Meet Stephanie
I’m Stephanie, the voice behind The Brunette Foodie.
I grew up in a family where we sat down and ate meals together. There were 7 of us, and I am sure this wasn’t always an easy feat but my parents made it happen.
Those dinners together have made me a fierce advocate for the importance of eating as a family. I love recipes that call for whole ingredients {no canned soup here!}, are uncomplicated {most of the time}, and most importantly, bring everyone together.
I’m a wife and a mother {1 toddler boy + 1 baby girl}. Originally from Eastern Pennsylvania, I moved to Atlanta, Georgia fresh out of college in May 2006. We now live just 5 minutes outside of Atlanta in a great historic suburb. I have a BA in English Literature and a MBA in Finance. When my son was born, I left the corporate world to become a stay-at-home mom, and I haven’t looked back.
I homeschool, love to read, enjoy coffee, and don’t have any problem baking cookies everyday. I love sales at Target, pink & green, and Diet Dr. Pepper. I’m very active in my Catholic Church where I teach 3 year old Sunday School. I also hold several positions in the Junior League of Atlanta.
TBF is meant to be a place for home cooking and homeschooling. I am obsessed with meal planning, and I love trying new foods. Alongside the recipes, you will find posts on our adventures in homeschooling. We are currently doing the equivalent of 2 year old preschool {which is when school starts in this area}. I’m an avid researcher {read: obsessed}, and I hope to share activities and other fun information with you.
I am a team member at Hip Homeschool Moms, and I am writing a regularly monthly column on recipes for kids at The Homeschool Village starting in March 2012. Click here for a list of pieces I have written on various websites.
My Bend It Like Bourdain dinner party was featured as a Foodbuzz 24×24 event in February 2011. On March 16, 2011, I was profiled in the Roswell Patch in an article entitled Side Hustle Chronicles: The Brunette Foodie Earns a Living Saving People Money. I have worked with a number of brands to develop recipes and review products.
I hope you enjoy looking around and find something to enjoy!
