a post about the nursery

Tomorrow I’ll be 22 weeks along!  I really can’t believe it.  In fact, that means I only have 18 weeks to get my act together {and about 12 weeks until I graduate!}.

The last 18 weeks of this pregnancy are going to be a whirlwind.  We’re moving in about 2 months to a new place since we’ve officially outgrown our 1 bedroom apartment that we’ve come to love.  As excited as I am to move, I am going to miss living right on the park.  I’m also going to hate packing up 3 years of life.  We’ve already slowly started to pack up a few things, but there is still so much to be done.

Since I can’t do much nursery prep yet, I’ve decided to tackle a few of the craft projects I want to get done.  This week I bought some wooden letters and paint to do the wall letters for over Samuel’s dresser.  I’m still on the hunt for madras ribbon to hang them {if you know where I can find some let me know}.  After that I want to work on a few other projects including making my own mobile for above the crib.  So you can definitely expect some craft posts in the next few weeks!

We won’t be painting any walls in the nursery, because the bedding is busy enough!  I can’t even decide what color we would use.

See what I mean about the colors?

I did find some great little car shapes at Michael’s that I am going to try to use for the mobile.  I am still on the hunt for a good set of directions on how to make one.

I also have some other ideas for projects I’d like to do including trying to make my own curtains.  This isn’t a priority, but if I can find the time I’d love to do it myself.  If not, everyone sells black out curtains!

Samuel seems to be doing great.  I am so excited for his June arrival.  We have so much to do before then, but now that I am not working and just going to school full time I have plenty of time to get it done!

Stephanie do let me know if you have any cetain motifs for Samuels room, a friend of Doreen’s does personalizations for about anything…I would love to help you out with any of those types of things. Let me know! I am so very excited about this baby too…did you pick out a new apartment? where is it? Nathan doesn’t tell us much…so keep us updated!

Love that prepster crib bedding! I’ve found some good nursery letters on Etsy; may be worth a search on there for related ribbon & such.

Speaking of, I’m happy to find so much preppy infant boy goodness out there. My current obsession is stalking Ralph Lauren teeny tiny polos & onesies until I find them on sale …
