Pingg: Not all internet invitations are bad

I have 2 major social pet peeves:

  1. electronic invitations for major events like dinner parties, holiday parties, weddings, showers, etc
  2. people who don’t send thank you notes

I never really jumped on the evite bandwagon.  I dutifully write out invitations for any event that requires it.  I can spend days searching the internet for the perfect invitations {it took me a year to pick wedding invitations…a year}.

However, yesterday the stars aligned, and I had to send out 5 invitations for a very small get together in a week.  In between working full-time and going to school full-time I was pretty realistic about how much time I had to get this done.

Enter pingg.

My distaste for email invitations is mostly because they are completely and utterly tacky.  Not at pingg.  They look like paper invitations that just pop up on your screen.

The idea is genius.

Do you see how cute that is?  It looks just like something you would put in the mail.

Now.  Is pingg going to replace my obsession with paper invitations?  No.  However, I suddenly feel less tacky using an emailed invitation.  I recommend you give it a try.  With everything else that goes on during the holidays is it really necessary to worry about sending invitations in the mail to 5 or 6 friends for a small dinner?
