Though not at all exciting, I’ve been on a huge oatmeal kick lately. I buy Nature’s Path Organic Instant Oatmeal Packets with Flax seeds (Kroger’s green section). It’s sweetened with a little cane juice but not a ton and it doesn’t have that artificial sugar taste. I put cinnamon on top. It’s a filling start to the morning and feels like you’re eating something that’s comforting and hot, but still good for you.
Plus, since I work at a retreat center, whenever there’s a retreat here the staff has breakfast together. So I need the oatmeal to counter-balance the days where there’s bacon, eggs & biscuits. I’m not complaining- it’s really cool to have breakfast & lunch on a lot of days and access to a fully stocked kitchen on the other days!
